Lineage & Mission

Honoring Our Lineage

At Eastern Medicine Center, our foundation rests on the teachings of Academician Prof. Shi Xuemin, world-renowned for his development of the Xing Nao Kai Qiao (XNKQ) acupuncture method. Dr. Shi Xue-Min is widely recognized as a pioneer of modern acupuncture, particularly in the treatment of neurological disorders using the Xing Nao Kai Qiao (XNKQ) method.”

For over two decades, I traveled across the United States alongside Prof. Shi, serving as his translator, assistant and student. During those years, I learned not only precise clinical techniques but also the deeper ethics of medicine: treat every patient as family, uphold compassion, and practice with integrity.

This legacy of clinical excellence and moral responsibility remains at the heart of everything we do. The spirit of lineage is not simply to inherit, but to safeguard and pass it on.

Mission of Innovation

While we honor the wisdom of our teachers, we also recognize that medicine must continue to evolve. Under Prof. Shi’s mentorship, I have extended XNKQ beyond stroke into a wide range of brain-centered conditions, including ADHD, Tourette’s, stress and anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, and infertility linked to neuro-endocrine imbalance.

This integration of traditional philosophy with modern research reflects our mission:

Preserve The Lineage

Preserve the lineage of Chinese medicine through teaching, clinical application, and ethical practice.

Innovate Responsibly

Innovate responsibly, refining classical methods to address today’s complex health challenges.

Bridge East & West

Bridge East and West, by engaging with evidence-based medicine, laboratory data, and scientific research while remaining true to holistic healing.

Teaching & Passing the Torch

We believe true lineage is alive only when shared. That is why Eastern Medicine Center mentors’ interns, residents, and practitioners through hands-on clinical training. Every student learns:

  • To respect the lineage: ethics, patient-first mindset, and precise technique.
  • To engage with evidence: modern research literacy, charting, and outcome tracking.
  • To grow independently: reflecting on cases, developing clinical reasoning, and building a unique professional style.

Our mission is simple but profound: to heal, to teach, and to ensure that the flame of Traditional Chinese Medicine burns brighter for the generations to come.

Teaching & Passing the Torch

Everything we inherit, refine, and teach serves one purpose: to restore health and bring happiness to those who seek our care. At Eastern Medicine Center, our lineage is not only a tradition, but also a living mission. By combining the wisdom of our teachers with modern evidence and by passing it on to future practitioners, we aim to ensure that every patient who walks through our doors finds a path toward healing, balance, and a more joyful life.
